  • 2022 Fire Callout rate is $980.45/hour (minimum 1 hour). After the first hour, the rate is prorated per minute.
  • Property Owners within the boundaries of the Town of Fort Qu'Appelle do not pay for responses as these services are covered by Municipal Taxes.
  • Fire Department callouts occuring outside the Town of Fort Qu'Appelle boundaries (RM of North Qu'Appelle,  B-Say-Tah, Fort San, Lebret, Standing Buffalo FN, and White Calf FN) will be billed at the above rates.

Farmers doing a controlled burn must inform the Fire Department of the controlled burn prior to starting the burn. Due to the recent changes in dispatching fire calls, the process for notifying the fire department of a controlled burn has changed. The person planning to do a controlled burn must call the fire line 1-866-404-4911.

DO NOT CALL 911. Immediately advise the dispatcher that this is not an emergency but rather notification of a controlled burn. Then supply the dispatcher with the following information: name, phone number, location and time of controlled burn. The information must be given in a clear, concise, brief message. The call should be placed approximately one hour before you are planning to do the controlled burn. Under no circumstances can the call be placed the day(s) before. Once the call has been received, dispatch will advise the local firemen through their pagers. If the fire department feels conditions are not right for the controlled burn, they will advise that you can not proceed with the burn. By informing the fire department that you are doing a controlled burn, you may avoid an unwanted fire call and resulting bill. However, if a fire call is placed the Fire Chief must make a decision as to whether or not to respond even though he has been advised of the controlled burn. If the fire department responds to a controlled burn, you will be billed for the fire call.
