Land Use Questions

Task: To update the Rural Municipality of North Qu'Appelle's Development Plan to guide/manage growth for the next five years.


How do you envision your municipality in the future? In an ideal world, what essential characteristics or components would it have? What would it be like?

What are the challenges or barriers to achieving that vision?

What do you see as problematic in your community and where more attention should be focused? What would you change or improve?

What does your municipality have that sets it apart?

When you think of land use, how do you balance private property rights with the overall community interest?

Do you have suggestions for development along the valley edge?

Many inquiries and proposals have been submitted for Multi-Parcel subdivisions and acreages. For resort residential lots the minimum frontage is 60 feet and for residential parcels in the agricultural zone the minimum size is 5 acres. Comments?

What are some of the desirable environmental features in this municipality? How would you best protect these resources? What role could they play in the economic development of the municipality?

What does economic, social and physical (environmental) sustainable development mean to you?

What don't you want to see in the municipality?
