Garbage Collection Policy

Subdivisions Of:
- Bartlett Place,

- Kinsley Place,

- and a central box for Villa Maria
- Each householder or cottage owner must provide enough garbage containers for their needs. The containers may be
metal or plastic cans with covers, or a garbage bin with a lid. All garbage must be bagged before being put in the container. The bag together with contents must not weigh more than 50 pounds or 22.5 kilograms. The Container must be kept so that contents can not be scattered by animals or birds. Loose garbage will not be picked up. The owner shall be responsible for picking up and properly bagging loose garbage.
- Garbage cans must be kept in a suitable stand. The stand or bin must be kept on your property as near the road as possible.
- Household garbage pick up will be:
- Monday for: portion of the Hudson Bay Reserve along the 210 Highway, Qu'Appelle Park, Qu'Appelle Place, Bartlett Place, Groome's Vista, and Lakes End
- Tuesday for: Evans/Upcott, Lebret Addition, Metis Farm, portion of the Hudson Bay Reserve along the well road, Kinsley Place, Ross Park, Lakeview Beach, Mission Lake Subdivision (Qu'Appelle Estates), LaRocque Estates, and central box for Villa Maria.
Household garbage should be put out early to insure that you are not missed. The pick up day may change without notice due to statutory holidays and due to extreme cold weather. Household garbage does not include yard debris, therefore yard debris should not be mixed in with household garbage.
- There will be special pick ups in the spring (near the end of May), periodically throughout the summer and in the fall
(near the end of October) to pick up yard debris. Note: Tree limbs are to be no more than 4 feet in length and bundled or they will not be picked up. Hedge, shrub, grass clippings and leaves are to be bagged and tied. Tree trunks and larger limbs are to be disposed of by the resident or property owner or R.M.'s garbage contractor will do custom work (phone Jim at 332-6023).
- Discarded furniture or appliances, old lumber or building material including paint cans are not considered garbage for
pick up and removal. If you wish to have any of this kind of material removed, please make you own arrangements with the R.M.'s garbage contractor (phone Jim at 332-6023). Please note that we do not pick up cement, used oil, tires and batteries. As regulations for the operation of a landfill site change due to environmental concerns, any items that can not be disposed of at the Waste Disposal Ground will not be picked up.
- Discarded or broken glass should be boxed and marked glass to prevent injury to the garbage collector when picking up garbage.
- Dumping of garbage, leaves, tree branches, grass or hedge clippings, algae, etc. along a road allowance or on a public reserve is not permitted.
- Recycling - There is a blue box which is either beside or behind the Town of Fort Qu'Appelle's lift station on Boundary Avenue ) for all types of paper and cardboard. Please note: cardboard should not be soiled or stained; milk cartons should be rinsed; and boxes or cartons should be flattened.
Hamlet Of Pasqua Lake

- Tree branches and hedge clippings will be picked up at the same time as leaves and grass clippings provided they are cut in approximately 3-4 foot lengths and are bundled or they will not be picked up.
